Who are we?

Refuge is the Youth Group at Olympic View Baptist Church.

Our youth range from 7th graders to 12th graders.

We meet every Sunday mornings from 9:30 to 10:15 and Monday evenings from 6:30 till 8:00pm at OVBC.

OUR MISSION:

Thanks for stopping by! Our mission of Refuge youth group is to create a foundation of Christian living through discipleship and mentoring. We strive to establish in each young person Christian values, morals, and behaviors through guidance and discipleship. Our passion is too ignite in each young person a love for Jesus Christ and those around them. We want to create a safe place for all students to come, fellowship, and worship Jesus. We are Bible based and believe that the Bible is the inherit word of God. That it teaches us how to walk a daily life as Christ did.

CORE VALUES:

As a youth group we have three core values that are extremely important to us. These  values we teach and instill in each member of Refuge youth group.

1. You are never to young to speak the truth and love of Jesus. As a young Christian especially in today’s world it is imperative that we hold fast to God’s word and stand fast to speak it. Jeremiah 1:7 “do not say, ‘I am only a youth’; for you must go wherever I send you and say whatever I tell you".

2. Prayer is powerful, it's how we talk to God and we try to instill the importance and power of prayer while never giving up. Luke 18:1 "then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them they should always pray and never give up".

3. As the body we must hold to the importance of helping each other to grow in our faith and to strengthen each other in times of joy and need. Proverbs 27:17 “iron sharpens iron as one man sharpens another”

Student Minitry:

Our team of Student Ministry gets together every Sunday after church during the school year. They dive even deeper into the word of God then we are able to do on normal youth nights. They also get to help plan the amazing events and activities that the youth do.
